GRACE LEADS TO RIGHTEOUSNESS

The grace of God leads to righteousness

The book of Romans talks primarily about the grace of God.Here the indefatigable Apostle Paul uses chapter 1-11 of the book to elucidate on what the grace of God has done for us and explains to us our new Identity in Christ. Furthermore, he explains that our actions should be motivated by the mercies and grace of God.

Romans 6:6 , "Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Christ and that we should not serve sin."Grace gives us the power to reject sin and love righteousness. Let it be known that if righteousness could be attained by observing the law, then Christ Jesus died in vain. (Galatians 2:20-21)

Grace does not make a Christian passive and relaxed. As a matter of fact, without grace ,we can do nothing.Apostle Paul  told the Corinthian Church,'By the grace of God, I am what I am.'
It means grace is what motivated his actions and formed the basis of all the sufferings he endures.Human will power will crumble at temptations but grace is the greatest sustainer !

After giving the basics of the Christian faith, Apostle Paul calls on us to be on fire for the messiah who gave his life as a ransom. In Romans 12:1 he states,'I beseech you by the mercies of God to present your bodies as  living sacrifices holy and acceptable to God. There is no bigger offering than giving your whole body as a living sacrifice.

It is only grace that make us willing to take up our cross and follow him.Jesus said,"They that the father has given me, nobody can snatched them from my hands."When we rely on grace to keep us, we will be safe and be able to endure to the end.Scripture declares that those who fell did so because they were not of us in the first place.

Romans 6:14 states,'sin shall not be your master because you are not under the law but under grace.' This is one scripture that makes it clear that true surrender to Christ can only come about by looking at him who died on the cross. The law tells us what needs to be done but grace changes our hearts and makes us willing disciples of Jesus.
