Let Us cross over

One day Jesus told His disciples they should cross over to the other side (Luke 8:22). The disciples had been so used to the old ways that they did not want any new thing. They wanted to stay where they were because this was their comfort zone and they were satisfied with the mighty things they had seen Jesus do. Most often we also have so many comfort zones. The Lord will be leading us to minister to somebody or even move to a different location for a special assignment  but the fear of the unknown will keep us at one place and cause us to lose great opportunities to be a blessing to others.

When they set out, there was a fierce storm which threaten to destroy their lives. Following Christ will not always be convenient. There will be threats on our jobs, families and even our lives. The disciples felt threatened to the extent that they forgot they had the creator of the universe with them. He who called the dead back to life could easily calm the angry seas but obviously they had forgotten and rather relied on their experience as fishermen. As Christians do we rely solely on our experience or call on Jesus when we are faced with a seemingly impossible task? There are many times that hard work and experience will just not be enough.

One major thing that caused them fear and trepidation was the fact that they forgot what Jesus had said before they went into the boat.He had spoken unequivocally that ;"let us go to the other side."That most surely meant that they were going to get to the other side no matter what.He never said ;"let us go and die in the sea". Since he was with them, there was no way they were going to perish and even if they did die,one word from His precious lips would have brought them back to life. The one who created the whole world with the power of His word had spoken again and His word always carry them to the other side no matter the opposition.Once He had said they were going to cross over,it did not matter, the amount of storms that will come against them.

In your own life , I don't know the storms you are facing. It might be storms of sicknessness or loneliness but remember that God says that He will never leave you nor forsake youJust keep on believing because when the disciples remembered Jesus and called on Him,He spoke and the sea became calm .There is peace and calm coming your way.For more information to start a relationship with Jesus email me at bsomuah@hotmail.com.
